Good navigation skills are crucial to enjoying and staying safe in the mountains. Learning to navigate involves building a multi-layered skill set ranging from the basic use of a map and compass, involving map interpretation, micro and low visibility navigation, through to the more advanced topics that use relocation and altimeters.
Some may want introducing to navigation so that they feel confident when exploring wilder and more adventurous places, whilst others require an advanced refresher prior to taking an MLTA award.
As well as providing the two options set out below, I am available on a daily basis for anyone wanting to concentrate on improving a particular aspect of their navigation.
