Introduction to outdoor climbing (One day)
Top roping and abseiling. The day focuses on the outdoor climbing experience, rather than the ‘knots & systems’ aspect.
Aim: To gain confidence climbing in an outdoor environment.
Cost: £75pp
Previous experience: An ability to ‘tie on’ & belay
Ratio: Max 6:1 Min 2:1
Top rope rigging workshop (One day)
Concentrating on techniques for setting up safe systems and covering fundamental theory + practical rope-work, with the opportunity for students to climb the routes rigged on the day.
Aim: To gain skill in anchor selection / placement and the knowledge required to set up safe top / bottom rope & abseil systems.
Cost: £75pp
Previous experience: An ability to ‘tie on’ & belay
Ratio: Max 6:1 Min 2:1
Combined - Intro to climbing & Rigging workshop (Two day)
Combination of the above.
Cost: £125pp
Previous experience: As above
Ratio: Max 6:1 Min 2:1
Multi Pitch climbing (One day)
Often on a mountain crag or sea cliff and climbing as a second.
Excellent both as a progression from the above courses, or as a stand alone outdoor climbing experience for the more adventurous.
Aim: To gain confidence & give an insight into some of the skills & techniques required for climbing longer routes.
Cost: £75pp
Previous experience: Some previous indoor wall or outdoor climbing experience.
Ratio: 2:1
Lead climbing (Two day)
An introduction to, what for many can be a daunting next step up from indoor climbing / outdoor top roping.
Aim: To attain the rope techniques & safe skills required to lead traditionally protected routes, set up belays and interpret guidebook information.
Cost: £125pp
Previous experience: Some experience climbing outdoors. An understanding of basic rope work & belaying.
Ratio: 2:1
Any of the above can be booked as a private one to one.
The cost for the first day is £150.
Additional days are £100 per day.
A family rate of £50 pp per day (min 3 people) is available for the Introduction to outdoor climbing, Top rope rigging workshop and Combined - Intro to climbing & Rigging workshop.
Families are classed as parents/a parent with their own child/children.
As well as the courses listed, I also offer specific skills days covering topics such as crag evacuation and self rescue.
