For the past 25 years rock climbing and mountaineering have been central to my life. Since the mid eighties I’ve visited many of the major climbing areas in the UK and worldwide enjoying all aspects of climbing, from bouldering to high altitude mountaineering and everything in between.
From the early nineties I have worked as an instructor and until the begining of 2011 managed a successful indoor climbing wall in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
I am a member of the Association of Mountain Instructors, have a Diploma in Outdoor Activities and hold the Mountain Instructor Award (MIA). This qualification means that my rock climbing, teaching, navigation and mountaineering skills have been assessed to the highest UK standard.
Currently my time is divided between my work as a MI, sailing and maintaining my 37' ketch Taransay and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.
